Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 16e, redefining the budget iPhone experience. Originally expected to be the fourth-generation iPhone SE, the rebranded iPhone 16e comes with a $170 price increase but justifies the cost with significant upgrades.

It now aligns with the iPhone 16 series, ensuring compatibility with Apple Intelligence, the companyโ€™s next-gen AI technology.

Departing from the outdated SE designs, the iPhone 16e sports a 6.1-inch display with Ceramic Shield protection and a matte finish in black or white. It features the customizable Action Button, replacing the mute switch, and a single 48-megapixel rear camera capable of 2x optical zoom. A 12-megapixel front camera enhances selfies and FaceTime quality.

Powered by the A18 chip, the same processor in the iPhone 16, the iPhone 16e delivers seamless performance and integrates Appleโ€™s first in-house modem, the C1. Storage options start at 128GB, with 256GB and 512GB variants available. Battery life surpasses previous models, offering up to 26 hours of video playback.

Priced at $599 (ยฃ599 in the U.K.), the iPhone 16e sees a notable price hike from the $429 iPhone SE but gains premium features like Face ID, an OLED display, USB-C charging, and satellite connectivity.

Pre-orders open on February 21, with sales beginning February 28. The iPhone 16e delivers a modern design, flagship features, and AI-powered enhancements, making it a compelling choice for budget-conscious Apple users.
