With Auto Rotate, you can switch from portrait mode to landscape mode or vice versa by rotating the phone in that direction. This feature comes in handy when you constantly switch between applications using landscape mode and portrait mode.

You can switch to landscape mode when watching a movie or any other content and switch to portrait mode when you want to use your phone normally.

Many Samsung users have come up with an issue regarding the auto-rotate feature. Users have complained that auto-rotate is not working on their Samsung Galaxy phones.

The issue is probably related to system bugs, accelerometer sensor issues, outdated system firmware, etc. Here are all the possible steps to help fix this issue.

Ways to Fix Auto Rotate not Working on Samsung Galaxy Phones

The issue most likely occurs due to software glitches, but thereโ€™s a slight chance that this problem might occur due to hardware issues. Before getting to any conclusion, you must follow all the steps given below, and this will help you solve this issue.

1. Ensure Auto Rotate is Enabled

The first thing to check is whether auto-rotate is enabled or not. If this feature is disabled, you cannot switch between portrait and landscape modes by rotating your phone.

  1. Swipe down twice from the top of your phoneโ€™s screen to open the quick settings panel.
  2. You should see theย Auto Rotate icon highlighted in blue here. If this icon is available, then the auto-rotate feature is enabled.
  3. If you donโ€™t see this icon, tap on theย Portraitย or theย Landscapeย icon.
