Want to resize the iPhone keyboard? Then check this guide to make the iPhone keyboard large or small on your iPhone. Usually, people have different palm sizes. This may make it difficult for them to type on the stationary on-screen keyboard of the iPhone.

Primarily, there are two ways to resize the iPhone keyboard. You can make the changes to the display via iOS settings. Secondly, you can deploy a third-party keyboard and use it accordingly by shifting its size to a larger or smaller version.

1. How to Resize iPhone Keyboard and Make it Bigger?

Here is how you can make changes to the display of the iPhone to make the on-screen keyboard look bigger.

  1. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness.
  2. Navigate to the Display Zoom tab > tap on View [it would be set by default to Standard]
  3. Tap on Larger Text and apply it by tapping on Done.
change to zoom display on iPhone
  4. Restart the iPhone to apply the changes.

1.1 Use Third-Party Keyabord App to Make the Keyboard Bigger

There is a free app named ReBoard, which you can download from the Apple App Store. First, you have to set it as your primary keyboard app.

  1. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard.
    iOS keyboard settings
  2. Under that tap on Keyboards > Add New Keyboard.
    tap on Add new keyboard
  3. Navigate to ReBoard and tap on Done.
  4. Launch the app that requires you to use the keyboard.
  5. Tap on the globe icon in the bottom left and select the ReBoard app from the pop-up menu that mentions the keyboards available on your iPhone.
set reboard as default iOS keyboard

For changing the keyboard to a bigger form,

  1. Launch the ReBoard app > tap on the gear icon at the bottom.
  2. Tap on the + sign beside the option Keyboard Size to increase the keyboard size.
    change keyboard size and increase
  3. Later, if you change your mind and want to revert to the default keyboard size, follow steps 1-2 and tap on the X beside the Keyboard size.

2. Resize iPhone Keyboard and Make it Smaller

Now, onto the second problem. If you feel the keyboard is big and your fingers cannot traverse through the on-screen keyboard, you can make it smaller. You have to enable the one-hand mode on your iPhone.

  1. Open any app that requires you to type using the on-screen keyboard.
  2. Tap and hold the globe icon at the bottom left of your keyboard
  3. Select between the left-handed or right-handed layout.

This will reduce the size of the keys on the on-screen keyboard layout. This will make it convenient for you to type your text easily.

2.1 Use Third-Party Keyboard App to Make the Keyboard Smaller

Again, you can use the keyboard above the app Reboard to resize the iPhone keyboard to a smaller size. Follow the steps mentioned above to install and set the Reboard app as the default keyboard app on your iPhone.

For changing the keyboard to a smaller form,

  1. Launch the ReBoard app > tap on the gear icon at the bottom.
  2. Tap on the – sign beside the option Keyboard Size to decrease the keyboard size.
    change keyboard size and decrease
  3. Later, if you change your mind and want to revert to the default keyboard size, follow steps 1-2 and tap on the X beside the Keyboard size.
