While the US administration started thumping Chinese tech companies a long back, the Indian government has recently started acting against them. The Asian multi-cultured nation has engaged in a fight against China over border tensions since last month, which led the Indian government to ban 59 Chinese apps including TikTok over security reasons.
Further, the government has also banned 48 new apps that were clone to the earlier banned apps. The apps list include several Xiaomi apps like Mi Community, Mi Browser Pro and Mi Video Call. Thus, Xiaomi has now announced to make and roll out a new MIUI for all of their handsets based in India, which doesnโt have those banned apps by default.
Moreover, it also announced that itโs MIUI Cleaner app is not using the Clean Master app, as said by the Indian government. Also, 100% of the data belonging to Indian stays in India only. This means all the data collected by Xiaomi through their apps and phones are stored in Indian servers only.
