Capital One said that this hacking occurred on March 22 and 23. The company said that they fixed the vulnerability immediately and an individual can’t use the details for some fraudulent tasks. However, they are still investigating the details.

Capital One CEO Richard Fairbank said that he is very sorry for the mishap occurred and he is committed to making this entire thing right. However, the company said that none of the credit card details or login credentials of the website is compromised. Nearly 99% of the social security numbers are still safe.

Thompson posted all the details on GitHub under her own name. This is something that is raising so many suspicions. She also posted on Twitter that she will distribute all the social security numbers online along with names and date of births.
