To keep its customers entertained throughout the journey, Air Canada is bringing select Apple TV+ content to its in-flight infotainment system.

This partnership adds popular shows like Ted Lasso, Bad Sisters, Foundation etc., to Air Canadaโ€™s library, which can be streamed without a subscription. Also, to celebrate this partnership, Air Canada is offering a free two-month Apple TV+ subscription to new and returning customers in Canada.

Adding Apple TV+ as a Complimentary

Less than five years of launch, Apple TV+ has grown to be a significant entertainment platform in the OTT space. While adding new and interesting content to the library is what Apple should do, making crucial partnerships too can aid its platformโ€™s growth.

In this pursuit, Apple partners with Air Canada to add its Apple TV+ content to the flightโ€™s infotainment system. Air Canadaโ€™s in-flight library consists of more than 420 movies, 1,000 episodes of TV shows, 130 music albums, plus multiple podcasts โ€“ all coming as complimentary with the air travel.

And now, adding Apple TV+ content will only make it better. Air Canada customers can watch popular titles like Ted Lasso, Bad Sisters, Severance, and Foundation on the screens inside the aircraft. Still, itโ€™sย unknown whether the content is added to the entire fleet at once or gradually.

This aside, Air Canada and Apple offer a free two-month Apple TV+ subscription to new and returning customers to celebrate this partnership. After the free term, the Apple TV+ subscription will cost $8.99 per month. Talking about this, Air Canadaโ€™s Managing Director of Product Design, John Moody, said;

โ€œThis new partnership with Apple puts us on track to increase our onboard entertainment content by more than 95 per cent since last year.โ€

This isnโ€™t the first time an airline partners with an OTT to extend its content options. In 2020, American Airlines offered Apple TV+ content in its in-flight entertainment system. They even let Apple Music subscribers stream songs on the Apple Music app for free using in-flight Wi-Fi.
