  4. Right-click on Windows Explorer and Restart the Process.
  5. Reboot the Computer and windows will automatically build an icon cache.

2. Reinstall Apps

Sometimes the problem is not the Windows OS; the problem is with the app. Like sometimes, it is not updated correctly or because of corrupt files. You can quickly resolve it by uninstalling the app, restart the PC and then reinstall it.

It is a pretty simple fix and works for some users using the latest windows 10. You can directly search that app on google and download it from the primary source instead of the windows store. Because sometimes, it didn’t download the app correctly and take too much time while downloading from the windows store.

3. Manually Change the Icons

  1. Right-click on an app that is causing the error, go to properties.
  2. Click on Shortcut tab >> change icon.
  3. Browse the icon and select your desired icon and click on OK.

4. Repair Windows Image Using DISM

DSIM Commands are useful to repair windows image and fix the system files. For your convenience, you can try this method too.

  1. Press Windows+R to open Run Dialog Box and type CMD, hit enter.
  2. Now You need to paste the below commands one by one.
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    
    sfc /SCANNOW
  3. Restart the PC and it will repair your corrupted files.

5. Disable Tablet Mode

According to many forums, users said that this method helps users to fix this issue. Just take a look.

  1. Press Windows+R key and type ms-settings:tabletmode and click on ok.
  2. Alternatively, Go to Settings >> System.
  3. Click on Tablet Mode on the left menu.
  4. Choose to Use Desktop Mode instead of tablet mode.
  5. Restart the Windows and see changes.

6. Reset Windows

  1. Open Windows Settings >> Update & Security >> Recovery Windows.
