Bringing things at the right time, Google added necessary features to Chrome browser on Android this week. These are aimed at simplifying the online shopping experience.
Chrome on Android got Price Drop Alerts to inform users about the fall in prices of their interesting products, search products through Google Lens, and check all carts from one place. All these features are available in the US only, and may soon come to iOS and other regions.
Online Shopping Through Chrome
We’re in the holiday season now. And while we eagerly wait for the big day, we shop for discounted goods till then. And if you’re an avid online shopper like I, here’s a perk from Google – Chrome on Android gets new features to ease online shopping.
The company announced introducing a price drop alert to Chrome on Android, that will keep track of your desired products, and alert you when there’s a drop in its price. For this, you should be keeping the product page tab open all the time, and let Chrome track its price variations.
And once it notices any drop, it will show the discounted price in a small tag at the top of the tab. Besides this, there’s the support for searching a product through Google Lens and finding more details on it.

Google integrated the Lens to search bar in Chrome browser, which will let you find details and relevant shopping websites within seconds, once you capture the image with Lens. If online, just tap and hold on to the product image to see options, and click on “Search image with Google Lens“.
If offline, capture the image of that product through Lens and check results. Also, there’s a Your Carts section added in Chrome browser, which will group all your pending carts from various shopping sites in one place. This will remove the hassle of visiting all the websites for checking them.
Finally, Chrome already has the Saved passwords and addresses support for quicker checkout in shopping. All these new features are available in Chrome from Android only and may come to iOS clients soon. Also, these are available to US users as of now.
