Google in its I/O event last year announced a new privacy option – the ability to delete the last 15 minutes of your search history easily.

This has been available to Google iOS app for quite a time and now starts rolling out to its Android counterpart. Confirmed by Google, this option is available in the latest Google app and lets you delete the last 15 minutes with a few simple taps.

Google’s New Privacy Feature

Google is one of those services where users are scared about leaving their digital interests. All the browsing history or apps you use may earn Google much, as it profiles your data for various purposes. But if you don’t it to happen, you can keep deleting the data that you provide to Google in a number of ways.

One among them is the option to delete the last 15 minutes of your search history easily. Google in its last year’s I/O event said it will induce such an option in the Google app soon, and did it for the iOS Google app in July that. And though it promised to bring the same to the Android app by the year ending, it just passed.

But now, it’s finally bringing the support to delete the last 15 minutes of search history easily through the Google Android app. This was initially spotted by XDA’s Mishaal Rahman and later confirmed by The Verge Editor. Speaking to The Verge on this, a Google spokesperson said,

“We’re currently rolling this feature out on the Google app for Android and expect it to be available to everyone using the app in the next few weeks. We’re continuing to explore ways to bring this helpful feature to other surfaces.”

If you wanted to try this, make sure you’re running on the latest Google app version, and go to the Profile section by tapping on the icon at the top right. Go to Search History and here you should find the new option “Delete Last 15 Minutes Search History” available in it.
