Disable Advertising ID Using Local Group Policy Editor

Another way to enable or disable Advertising ID is using Local Group Policy. This method is for those who are familiar with windows core features and technically sound. Let’s check it out.

  1. Firstly Press Windows + R Key to open a Run dialog box.
  2. Type gpedit.msc and hit enter to open Local Group Policy Editor.gpedit.msc
  3. After opening the local group policy you need to navigate the below path:
    Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > User Profile.
  4. Now in User Profile, you can see Turn off the advertising ID option on the right pane. Double click on it to open configuration.Turn off the advertising ID
