Apart from the $10 million grant announced by Facebook, social media is now helping Indians with the related vaccination information they needed. In partnership with the Indian government, Facebook will include a COVID vaccination finding tool in its app to help users find nearby and available vaccination centers. Theyโre then redirected to CoWIN for booking a slot to get vaccinated.
Vaccine Finder Tool in Facebook
On behalf of Facebook last week, Mark Zuckerberg has announced a $10 million monetary grant to help India fight the ongoing crisis. They have partnered with local helping bodies like United Way, Swasth, Hemkunt Foundation, I Am Gurgaon, Project Mumbai, and US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) to distribute these funds as needed.
Facebook aims to provide oxygen supplies, medical kits, and others for tackling the worsening COVID situation in India with them. And now, it announced to provide information support too through its Facebook app. In partnership with the Indian government, the company has added a new tool called โFind a COVID-19 Vaccineโ in its app.
This was cooked into the โCOVID-19 Information Centerโ in Facebook app, where you can see it under your profile settings section. Going in, youโll be seeing all the COVID-19 related information from trusted sources like government bodies. Scrolling down the page, you should โFind a COVID-19 Vaccineโ tab, where you can locate the nearby available vaccination centers.
You can choose one and tap on it to check the timings of operating and contact details. Also, it shows the walk-in availability of 45+ aged people. And if all good and you decided to book an appointment, youโll be redirected to the governmentโs CoWIN website for registering the slot. And according to it, you can proceed with safe vaccination.
