In the event of MWC 2023, Google unveiled a new widget for the Keep app – that’ll let users pin important notes to their home screen.

Users can pin multiple notes – and differentiate the colors set in the Keep app. Tapping on the pinned notes will take them to the Keep app for editing, while checkboxes can be marked down there. Google started rolling out this widget to all the users now, who may see it in the next couple of weeks.

Google Keep Widget for Home Screen

When most OEMs at MWC 2023 are unveiling their hardware products, Google is showing up with software updates to its Wear OS and Android. One among them is an update regarding the Keep app, where users can now use a home screen widget for quickly accessing their notes.

As noted in the Workspace Blog, Google’s new Keep Widget will allow users to pin single cards from their notes app to the home screen of their phone or tablet. This wasn’t possible earlier unless without using tags. Thus, this new feature is most welcomed.

Tapping on the pinned note will take you directly to the Keep app, where you can make edits to the content. But if the note has checkboxes, you can tick them off right from the pinned widget itself. Users have multiple notes differentiated by background colors and can pin them accordingly on the home screen, making them more clear.

Although Google said it started rolling out this widget now, it would take 15 days to reach everyone having a Keep app installed. So if you’re a user and can’t see this feature now, be patient. It’s unknown whether Google included the new Wear OS 3 complications to the Keep app, which received a Material You revamp and a two-pane layout for foldables and tablets.
