Months after disabling it, Instagram is once again enabling the snooze button for hiding suggested posts for 30 days on the platform.

Last year, Instagram temporarily stopped showing an excessive number of suggested posts after the community criticism – only to burst out again soon. As with users complaining again, the platform has silently enabled the Snooze button for disabling Suggested Posts for 30 days.

Annoying Suggested Posts on Instagram

For a long, Instagram users have been complaining about the growing number of ads – in the form of cookies, suggested posts, recommendations, etc. – all annoying them in some form or other. As this trend had gone to peak mid-last year, Instagram decided to temporarily reduce the frequency of recommended posts in the feed and focus on improving its personalization tools.

Well, the company also suggested that it would eventually increase in number again once it is satisfied with the relevance of its recommendations. And this led to users seeing more suggested posts since late last year – only to complain again now. Maybe this was heard by Instagram again; it silently added the snooze button to Suggested Posts.

If you are annoyed by this, here’s how to snooze Suggested Posts on Instagram.

How to Snooze Instagram Suggested Posts?

  1. Open Instagram and scroll through your main feed until you find a “suggested post.”
  2. Tap the “X” at the top-right corner of the suggested post, and open the “Post hidden” card.
  3. Here, tap on the “Snooze all suggested posts in the feed for 30 days” option.
  4. That’s it. You’ll see a green checkmark confirming your selection.

Even after this, Instagram may continue to show suggested posts – but less often and rarely from the sources that you don’t follow.
