Instagram seems to craft new ways to let users check their network’s latest posts. The Facebook subsidiary has previously criticised for removing the post-lookup in reverse chronological order, which was loved by many. Now, a new feature as Latest Posts could be helping users to view all the new posts in reverse chronological order of their network.

New feature to never miss anything

Jane Manchun Wong is a reverse engineering specialist unearthing all such developments by tech giants. And as TechCrunch reported, she gained this information and even managed to procure screenshots of this feature from the code of Android Instagram app. The screenshots above are sourced from her work and show the pop-up as “Welcome Back! Get caught up on the posts from jezburrows, paulaguzman and 9 others”.

And when selected See Posts, you’d be redirected to a new page where you can see all the latest posts of your following/followers in reverse chronological order. This could be appealing. As we have seen in past, Instagram has made its feed in the same way, but took down and started showing top-ranked or best content, the feeling could be more interactive.

And when community slashed them for this, it introduced You’re All Caught Up at the end of feed and New stories for letting them know they’ve seen all. Though resisted initially, users accustomed to it gradually and are using few options that seemed relevant. One such irrelevant feature that’s ignored by users and Instagram thought of pulling out is the IGTV recently.

Whatever, rumours are always rumours until they’re truly made. But considering the authenticity of Wong’s previous findings, where most of them have really made into the public, we can at least be optimistic of these trails.
