Windows users are having a tough time since the beginning of this year. While many have been complaining about the faulty updates, few are now complaining about the inability to update. Users who’re trying to upgrade from Windows 10 1903 or 1909 to version 2004, May Update are receiving a message saying their systems aren’t having supported settings, thus blocked!

Unable to Update to Windows 10 May 2004

Almost all the monthly updates pushed by Microsoft since early this year has more complaints than solutions. While users complained about problems occurring after installation, few users are now criticizing for being unable to install the Windows 10 May 2020 update. They’re saying that update isn’t possible as their system settings aren’t supported! There’s no other proper reason mentioned other than that.

Users trying to update from Windows 10 version 1903 or 1909 to 2004 are shown an error message as,

“This PC can’t be upgraded to Windows 10. Your PC settings aren’t supported yet on this version of Windows 10. Microsoft is working to support your settings soon. No action is needed. Windows Update will offer this version of Windows 10 automatically when these settings are supported.“

This reason seemed vague, as there’s no additional explanation of which settings are bothering. But, Techdows has a suggested few workarounds in case users are still interested in upgrading without waiting for Microsoft to adjust.

  • Update Hardware Drivers
  • Disable Core isolation through Settings > Windows Security > Open Security Center > Device Security > Core Isolation.

Some users have also reported a way to update by disconnecting from the internet first.
