Microsoft has updated the status of its Windows 10 version 2004 today, where it referred that people using old versioned Windows 10 will automatically be updated to latest OS soon. In the notes, it said to be using a machine learning-based rollout to those devices which are using End of Support versions, thus giving them a push to the new version.

Microsoft has been pushing its users to update for latest Windows OS as a best practice. While the ultimate decision was left to users to till now, the maker is now stepping up its game to persuade in a new way.

In the updated status of Windows 10 version 2004, Microsoft revealed to be starting a new phase of their software rollout. It mentioned being using a machine learning-based (ML-based) model to detect devices using the end of support versions and update them to latest version 2004.

The number of devices it had set to choose is increased this time using this new method and said to train their machine learning technique even more to rollout new OS intelligently.

Further, users using Window’s 10 versions 1903 and 1909 can update to latest version 2004 manually, Microsoft said. For this, navigate to Settings > Windows Update > Check for Updates. If you’re eligible, like in version 1903 or 1909, could see a new upgradeable pack to version 2004, thus download and install.
