Months after launch, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 Series – having a regular Watch 5 and a Pro variant – is adding support for a temperature-based period cycle tracking feature.

This comes as a result of the OEM partnering with Natural Cycles – a company pioneering this service with its app. Samsung notes this feature to arrive in the Health App in Q2 this year, in 32 markets initially.

Period Cycle Tracking on Galaxy Watch

In the pursuit of making its Galaxy smartwatches the best WearOS devices – Samsung is adding a commendable feature to them soon. The Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro are set to receive a temperature-based health cycle tracking feature soon.

This comes after the South Korean giant partnered with Natural Cycles – a company that’s best known for its birth control app – cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Though Samsung touts this feature to its Galaxy devices is approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea, it doesn’t look to be cleared by the FDA in the US.

Well, since the service itself is approved by FDA from Natural Cycles, we expect reliable performance. As a new update, Samsung will push the feature’s algorithm to Galaxy Watch 5 Series to let users track the most accurate results.

This will be available via the Samsung Health app by Q2 2023 in 32 countries initially. These include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K., and the U.S.

We expect more regions to be covered later after the company obtains approvals from relevant authorities in respective countries.
