WhatsApp is finally adding much-needed support – a multi-account system to its Business version.

Available to Android beta testers, this feature will allow users to add multiple WhatsApp accounts on one device and switch among them when needed. This will remove the hassle of cloning WhatsApp to add two versions on one device.

Support For Multiple Accounts

Though late, WhatsApp has been competing aggressively against its rivals lately. The platform has been adding new features more frequently than ever, and there are many features in testing for imminent release.

The latest in this pursuit is the multi-account support in WhatsApp for Business, as noted by WaBetaInfo. WhatsApp Business users running on the Android beta app v2.23.17.8 will see this support – in their settings screen.

You should find a new account-switching option beside the QR code; tapping on it will open a card below displaying the accounts you’re currently logged into and an opportunity to add another account. This support is now available only for the WhatsApp Business app and has been in testing since June this year.

Details on when this could be available for regular users are unknown, and how many accounts it’ll restrict to one device. Well, for business users, it’s undoubtedly a helpful addition, considering they have a personal statement and a commercial one to interact with customers.

Until now, users must install both app versions – business and personal – on one device to maintain these accounts. But the worst is cloning the WhatsApp app to use multiple accounts, which may cause problems later.

Well, as WhatsApp addresses this, the platform is also expected to roll out other features spotted in the testing, including animated avatars, email verification for extra security, screen sharing in video calls, call scheduling etc.
