Ever since the COVID-19(Coronavirus) pandemic has taken over the world, people in the lockdown period have started forwarding messages regarding the issue. Sending information isnโt bad but if the information turns out to be fake then it becomes a huge mess.
Taking this into consideration, Whatsapp has been taking a few steps to prevent the spreading of fake news. Just like that today, Whatsapp has changed some forward limits which will prevent the spreading of fake news.
Whatsapp Message Forward Limit Changed To 1 For Preventing Fake Forwards
Earlier, the company took some steps such as limited users to post less than 15-seconds stories, the forward limit was set to 5 at a time, and now the company has gone ahead and limited user forwards to 1.
This means that from today, users can forward messages to only 1 chat at a time. According to the company, it will help prevent the spreading of fake news especially in the time of such a pandemic virus.
Other than this, there was a rumor that the company is testing a new useful feature that will add to this prevention of forwarded fake messages.
The rumor is said to be legit as sources claim that the company will soon bring this feature that will have a magnifying glass icon to some forwards that will let users find out if it is legit or fake by just double-clicking on the icon. Currently, there are no other details regarding this feature, but we should see it in the coming weeks.
