WhatsApp is now a household name. This instant messenger popularized the way we chat over the internet and is keeping its users stick to its service by rolling out new features every now and then. Latest rumours tell that the messaging platform is about to introduce few animated sticker packs for more engaging conversations.
Not New, But Developed.
As WABetaInfo reported, WhatsApp has submitted a new update to Google Play Store that may feature animation stickers! This update, version 2.20.10 could soon be rolling out to others, as the Beta testers are already experiencing it.
When looked closely into screenshots and video of WABetaInfo, we observe that the new feature isnโt actually new, but rather a development of existing stickers into motion. Packs as Moodey Foodies, Bright Days, Playful Piyomaru etc are developed into animated stickers rather than just fixed send-ables.
These new packs can be found at Chat > Stickers icon > New > Packs. Select from various updated packs and download them to be sent later. Aside from animated stickers, the users are expecting Dark Mode of WhatsApp, which may be coming in this update or later.
Just recently, Facebook announced its plans of backing off from displaying ads in WhatsApp. This is considered great, as serving personalized ads on WhatsApp may require breaking the serviceโs core feature, end-to-end encryption. If this is done, users would migrate to another secure platform without hesitation.
The major asset of such platforms can amass is the user base. And thatโs why WhatsApp, along with its parent company Facebook and sister platform Instagram are rolling creative features to keep users more engaged.
WABetaInfo has a long history of revealing the new features of WhatsApp, which arenโt experienced by users yet due to being in development. The beta users of WhatsApp may be able to see the new updates as rumoured. If not, wait for the actual release which we expect to be launched soon.
