Windows 11’s next big update, touted as the Sun Valley 2 update is reportedly ready to hit the RTM status in a few weeks.

This anniversary update won’t be having many new features but will have upgrades to the existing ones. With RTM build coming by this month-end, we may see the final stable build coming to all eligible users in September or October this year.

Windows 11 Sun Valley 2 Update

With two feature updates a year, Microsoft and the businesses using the Windows OS understood that it’s hard to maintain such regular updates, and keep the system’s latest. Thus, Microsoft shifted to a one feature update per year policy with the launch of Windows 11.

The company launched the first version of Windows 11 in October last year, and we see the next feature update (coming once for this year), rolling out in September or October this year. While Microsoft is still working on it, it’s reported that the next feature update (codenamed Sun Valley 2) is about to hit the RTM status in a few weeks!

To those unknown, RTM (release to manufacturing) is a building type that’s supplied to device OEMs that Microsoft has partnered with. They can test this build with their proprietary drivers and devices to check compatibility, and also pre-install in the upcoming devices.

This could possibly be happening by this month-end, putting the launch of the stable version in line with expected dates. The stable build should of Sun Valley 2 (Windows 11’s next feature update) should be rolling out in October, considering Microsoft’s Microsoft timeline every year.

Without much of a design revamp, this update majorly focuses on quality improvements of existing features. You may also try some of the features of Windows 11’s next feature update by enrolling in Windows Insider Program.
