Unfortunately, the Youtube Vanced app, a tweaked version of Googleโs YouTube that offers premium features for free, is shutting down.
This comes after the youtube Vanced app operators received a cease and desist order from Google, who asked the Vanced team to take off all the links pointing to YouTube products. Thus, the Vanced team announced their closure soon but said all the clients downloaded until they kept working.
YouTube Vanced is Shutting Down
With more and more people flocking around YouTube for music and streaming their favorite videos, Google started dividing the services according and put a price on every needed feature. Popular among them are ad-free streaming and background running of the app while listening to music.
And for years, people who didnโt like this setup have always approached YouTube Vanced โ a modified version of YouTube that offers most premium features for free. The Vanced app was soon liked by many and finally caught the attention of Google.
Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links on the website will be taken down. We know this is not something you wanted to hear but it's something we need to do. Thank you all for supporting us over the years.

Since itโs harming their income, Google has recently sent a cease and desist order to the Vanced team, ordering them to shut down. And theyโre complying with it! In their Telegram and Discord channels, the Vanced app operators revealed that theyโre pulling the plug for legal reasons.
They stated as;
โWe know this is not something you wanted to hear, but itโs something we need to do. We were asked to remove all references to โYouTubeโ, change the logo, and remove all links related to YouTube products.โ
Yet, they started to remove all the download links for their app soon, but the clients already downloaded and running on usersโ phones will remain working. Also, the Discord server, Telegram chat, and subreddit will stay too.
But itโs highly unlikely how long theyโll remain since keeping the app up without any development may thwart users for alternatives.
