A new job listing posted by Duolingo reveals the company working on a new app for music learning – that will let people learn music like Duolingo’s other apps work.

The job posting asks for an expert who can combine theoretical knowledge of relevant learning science research and hands-on teaching experience and convert ideas into acts for interesting learning. More details on this are yet to be known.

Duolingo’s Music Learning App

For many people worldwide, Duolingo is mostly known for its ability to teach new languages interestingly. The language curriculum is crafted creatively to make it easier and more fun for the learners, and its certificate is even accepted by several universities in language qualification tests.

With this success, the company is now venturing into a new field – music learning, as noted by TechCrunch. The new outlet has spotted a job listing by Duolingo, which is looking for an “expert in music education who combines both theoretical knowledge of relevant learning science research and hands-on teaching experience.

The selected person will be in charge of making the app “well-grounded in learning science,” while also being able to translate the “research findings into concrete ideas”, which can be used for “learning by doing” activities. They also have to take the lead on curriculum development – signifying the app is in a very early stage.

This post is likely to be filled soon – considering what Duolingo is asking for, resulting in a new music learning app coming out soon. The company already has a couple of other apps of various kinds in the same learning industry, viz ABC app, an English Test app, and a Math app, for interactive learning of the concerned content.

The company is trying to diversify to stay afloat and gain more income. And this plan seems to be working just fine – with the company reporting a 67% growth in paid subscribers during Q4 of 2022.
