A month after the acquisition, Elon Musk says that Twitter is growing so fast – as it’s adding over two million users per day since the last week.

He shared a slide deck showing these growth graphs, where one noted the user active minutes to be at an all-time high. Another graph showed the fall of hate speech on the platform over the last week. Yet, all these are debatable.

Twitter Growth After Musk’s Takeover

While we all see chaotic things happening on Twitter, Elon Musk sees the other way. In a slide deck tweet he posted yesterday, Musk says shows that the platform has been adding over two million new users every day since the last week.

He also said the daily signups are up 66% compared to the same 7-day period last year. Further, the user active minutes on Twitter were at an all-time high – hitting nearly 8 billion active minutes per day on average in the last seven days, as of November 15th.

This represents a 30% growth hike when compared to the same period last year. Another slide showed the reduction of hate speech impressions on the platform. Well, this slide has a small print stating that the data only covers tweets in English!

Further, there is proof that Twitter has recently stopped enforcing its hateful conduct policy. So this slide isn’t worthy of boasting from the new Twitter boss. Having no slides on the company’s financials intrigued everyone, as maybe they’re getting worse than ever.

Some reports revealed that Twitter had lost over 50 of the top 100 advertisers since Musk’s takeover. And the new boss has earlier stated that bankruptcy was “not out of the question.” Yet, he’s so confident in upscaling the platform, as he claims to see a “path to Twitter exceeding a billion monthly users in 12 to 18 months”.
