Expanding the list of devices supporting its latest software – Android 12-based LineageOS – the team has now added Moto G 5G, Moto G 5G Plus, Motorola Edge, Xiaomi Mi 6, and ZUK Z2 Plus.

All these devices are ignored by their respective OEMs a while ago, with no software updates for years. Thus, users still using them can try the LineageOS 19 to experience Android 12 features and a more modern UI.

Android 12-Based LineageOS For More Phones

While we’re waiting for the Android 13 update to non-Pixel phones, the LineageOS team is striving to offer the Android 12 experience to more people. In this pursuit, the custom ROM team released Android 12-based LineageOS (known as LineageOS 19) earlier this year.

And by late last month, it added a bunch of phones, including the OnePlus Nord N200, Fairphone 3, and Redmi 7 handsets. Now, they added Moto G 5G (Moto One 5G Ace), Moto G 5G Plus (Moto One 5G), Motorola Edge, Xiaomi Mi 6, and ZUK Z2 Plus to the list.

The Motorola bunch has been from 2020 and was launched with Android 10 out-of-the-box. They were ignored with only one major feature update since their launch. And Xiaomi Mi 6 and ZUK Z2 Plus are much older than the Motorola series and haven’t received any official Android upgrades for so long.

And with the LineageOS team’s blessing, they get to experience the taste of Android 12 on their devices. Below are the links set appropriately, with Wiki links directing you to the respective device pages, where you can find the flashable ZIP file and relevant information for installing them.

Make sure to read the documentation before flashing so, as you may need to unlock your device’s bootloader and have a custom recovery tool like TWRP for easy processing. Also, it’s strongly advised to backup all your data before beginning the flashing process.

Aside from adding these phones, the LineageOS team has also dropped support for Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, Xiaomi Mi Mix, and Xiaomi Mi Note 2 to LineageOS 18.1 build due to maintainer inactivity.
