Meta Verified Eligibility Requirements

All the rumors we hear about Instagram officially selling a verified badge is true – as confirmed by Mark Zuckerberg late this week. In an Instagram Channel, the Meta CEO announced a new subscription program called Meta Verified – for $11.99 per month on the Web and $14.99 per month on iOS.

This includes Facebook and Instagram, and subscribing to it will get you a bunch of benefits, viz a verified badge, active impersonation monitoring, direct access to customer support, exclusive stickers for Instagram stories, priority visibility in comments, and more reach for your content through Instagram’s Explore and Reels sections.

Well, if you think a mere payment would get you all these perks, you’re wrong. The company notes a list of requirements you need to fulfill before subscribing to it. Here they are;

  • Users should be at least 18 years of age
  • Should meet Meta’s minimum activity criteria
  • Should have their Profile description and Picture updated – with their face showing up.

Once you fulfill all these conditions, you can apply for verification with a government-issued ID card, as asked by Meta during the process. And once successfully done – you’ll see all the perks showing up gradually.

Well, you should mind that making any changes to your profile information – like your username, profile name, DOB, or profile photo will require you to go through this whole process once again. So make sure you’re submitting the right data before verifying. This program is currently available in Australia and New Zealand, with more countries to follow soon.
