Meta Verified Eligibility Requirements

All the rumors we hear about Instagram officially selling a verified badge is true โ€“ as confirmed by Mark Zuckerberg late this week. In an Instagram Channel, the Meta CEO announced a new subscription program called Meta Verified โ€“ for $11.99 per month on the Web and $14.99 per month on iOS.

This includes Facebook and Instagram, and subscribing to it will get you a bunch of benefits, viz a verified badge, active impersonation monitoring, direct access to customer support, exclusive stickers for Instagram stories, priority visibility in comments, and more reach for your content through Instagramโ€™s Explore and Reels sections.

Well, if you think a mere payment would get you all these perks, youโ€™re wrong. The company notes a list of requirements you need to fulfill before subscribing to it. Here they are;

  • Users should be at least 18 years of age
  • Should meet Metaโ€™s minimum activity criteria
  • Should have their Profile description and Picture updated โ€“ with their face showing up.

Once you fulfill all these conditions, you can apply for verification with a government-issued ID card, as asked by Meta during the process. And once successfully done โ€“ youโ€™ll see all the perks showing up gradually.

Well, you should mind that making any changes to your profile information โ€“ like your username, profile name, DOB, or profile photo will require you to go through this whole process once again. So make sure youโ€™re submitting the right data before verifying. This program is currently available in Australia and New Zealand, with more countries to follow soon.
